As far as the SOLDIER is concerned, this meal isn't about Angeal, it's about Avalon, and making sure they have what they need after what's obviously been a bad time. If he could make it easier, even if it's just with soup, then that was a small price to pay. HOpefully Avalon likes beef and barley, it's tasty enough, and hearty, but it's not going to win any exotic food prizes.
