Because from where I'm sitting, your problem isn't selfishness in the sense of only caring about yourself: it's that conviction that you have to carry all this on your own, and because you have to carry it on your own, you know best how to handle it. That's a different kind of self-focus."
Her cutting board is pretty full of diced potatoes by this point, so she slides them into the baking tray, then moves to continue chopping.
